Lower Dolpo trek offers the outstanding trekking experience in the remote western region of Nepal. The trek includes locations admiring the beautiful rain shadow landscape of the Himalayas, reflected in the colorful barren slopes of the mountains where the play of light and shadow I the perpetual fascinating spectacle. Furthermore this is also one of the few areas where the pre Buddhist Bon po religion is still practiced.During the trek we get to muse at the Yak caravans that maintain the traditional salt trade with Tibet. We also cross two passes Numa La and Baga La and reflect on life amidst the tranquil waters of Phoksundo Lake. The trek follows with the deep gorges, hanging bridges and isolated villages which leads you to the most overwhelming experience and also the Buddhist monasteries will leave you breathtaking memories one can ever have. DAY 1: Arrival at Kathmandu.Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
DAY 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (approx 1 hr flight).Ovenight at hotel in Nepaljung.
DAY 3: Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal (Dolpo) (2320m) and trek to Dunai (2850m) (approx 45mins flight and 2-3 hrs trek). Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 4: Trek from Dunai to Tarakot (2543m) approx 5-6 hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 5: Trek from Tarakot to Laini (3160m) approx 6- 7 hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 6: Trek from Laini to Nawarpani (3545m) approx 5-6 hrs.
DAY 7: Trek from Nawarpani to Do Tarap (4090m) approx 7-8 hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 8: Rest day at Do Tarap for acclimatization. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 9: Trek from Do Tarap to Numa la base camp (4440m) approx 6-7 hrs. Overnight at Tent camp.
DAY 10: Cross Numa la pass (5190m), Overnight in tent camp at Pelung Tang (4465m) approx 6-7 hrs.
DAY 11: Cross Baga la pass (5070m) and trek to Dajok Tang (4080m) approx 6-7 hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 12: Trek from Dajok Tang to Ringmo (3600m) approx 3-4 hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 13: Trek from Ringmo to Phoksundo Lake approx 4-5hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 14: Trek from Phoksundo Lake to Shyanta (2520m) approx 5-6 hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 15: Trek from Shyanta to Juphal approx 5-6hrs. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.
DAY 16: Fly to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 17: Final departure.
